Christmas Pages

Here are some of my new scrapbooking pages. I've got about 4 more to do for Christmas and then I'm done and I can go back and still play catch for birthdays and Halloween. I'll then start backwards and get the past years scrapbooking pages done. I'm really enjoying this....Happy New Year!

Happy New Year's

I can't believe this year has come to an end. This has been one of our busiest years ever. If you didn't receive the Blank Chronicles family newsletter leave me a message on the side. If you did received it I apologize about the terrible quality of the first page. My printer had some issues with the color print. Epson spent 3 hours today here trying to fix it. They have replaced 6 major parts and it still is not working correctly. We are waiting for a new logic board and a little motor for one of the parts. They have been great though, nice and responsive, but it's just not working right.

I've just updated the web site with a new header and new fun things on the sidebar. I hope you like it. We won't be doing anything spectacular this New Years except hanging out. My mom was here for Christmas and it was nice to have her around. I'm scrapbooking my Christmas pictures and I'm almost done. Mackinzi has crossed her eyes in most pictures so many of them are just silly! I'll post them as soon as they are complete....crossed eyes and all!

The kids had a great Christmas. Nathan received Leggo's Mindstorm, video games, Solidworks, a bow and arrow and a BB Gun. Machinzi received an electric scooter, easel, video games, a bow and arrow and a BB Gun too. Dad got lots of tools and video games for his hobbies and I got a super cool HD Digital Camcorder. Oh and yes, we do buy for the dog....Scruffy got lots and lots of chewy bones and stuff toys! Santa was very nice this year.....

The kids are on vacation one more week and then it back to school.

Happy New Year!

Kids Games

Do you need a new educational game idea for your kids. We have a new game for you to try. It's available only as a download. It's called Armadillo Run. It's a physics based game. One of Nathan's teachers at school introduced the students to the game. Chuck loves it too. They have additional levels online to download after you've completed the first 50 levels. Click on the picture and it will take you to the website. It's about $20 and it's worth it.

Scrapbooking pages for Mackinzi

I just finished some scrapbooking pages for Mackinzi. I'm starting to really get into the digital scrapbooking craze!

In the online digital scrapbooking world, it is appropriate to give credit to products being used . That's why you'll see the credits....there's not enough room on the slide show to post credits. I show big pictures here so I can give the credit but move them to the slide show.

Credits: I used Mrs. Wresh Template 26 and for the paper/elements I used Weeds and Wildflowers, "I Believe in You" kit.

Credits: I used a template from Kay Miller Designs and for the papers I used the August 07 Mega Kit from DSO.

Orlando Vacation (from other website)

We just returned from a vacation to Orlando, Florida. We went to five parks while we were there and stayed at the Nickeleoan Suites. This picture is the daily sliming at the resort. They fill up the big bucket and at 5:45 daily it dumps on the kids. They loved it. Mackinzi also got to be part of a side show and got pied....right before we were having caricatures done. She's a crack up. We went to five parks while we were there: Disney's Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios and Epcot and also the two parks at Universal Studios. Chuck, Nathan and I love roller coasters and Kinzi is getting there. She's loves the ones in the dark so she doesn't know what is going to happen but if she sees a roller coaster she freaks out!

Mackinzi's Messages from Other website

Kinzi has had quite an active year. She finished at the top of her class. She received an award from the River of Words contest for some art she created of a waterfall.

This summer she attended an Art Class in Tubac, AZ. She learned about Mosaics and Enameling and Fiber Art. Her favorite by far was enameling.

This year she has gotten straight A's. She is in soccer and still likes to play goalie. She won 1st place in the Elks Soccer Shoot-out for her division. She is in band at school and plays the Trombone. She also is a girl scout and a member of the student council. That girl keeps busy.

One of her favorite things to do is write. She has a series of books she has been writing about a little girl who turns into a wolf. The character's name is Huru. Kinzi is also dressing like Huru for Halloween.

We just updated her bedroom. It has been all pink for a while and Mackinzi is definately a little girl who is tired of pink. My friend, Diane, helped me do the whole room. Check out the new look!

This silouette is actually of my kids. I got the idea out of a design book.

;

This was inspired by Pottery Barn but adjusted to fit Mackinzi. The inside that is just black is an art gallery where she clips here pictures. You'll see 2 magnetic boards, 2 white boards, 2 cork boards, 1 chalk board, 1 picture board, 2 pocket board an 2 board with holes for hanging things.

Nathan's News from Other Website

When Nathan sees this he will be so excited that mom is updating his section instead of him, hehehe! What a great kid. Last year he wrestled for the first time and even pinned down an opponent. Nathan did really well in school.
This summer Nathan took a Robotics class at the Universitiy of Arizona. They used Leggo Mindstorm to create robots which they used in challeges and races. He had a really great time.
Currently, he's in his 3rd year playing soccer. His team is the Smokin' Aces. They won their game today!
Nathan is still quite the reader. However, his current interest are in programming. He has taught himself how to use HTML to update websites and is currently interested in learning JAVA. Last year he wrote his first BASIC program.
The big story for the year is that Nathan now had braces on his teeth! It will take about 2 1/2 years for the whole process to be complete.
I'll update more later.....or make Nathan do it!

Chuck's Chatting from other website

Chuck has been traveling like a crazy man this year. It started off in January in Greece. He's been working two jobs, one as a reservist and another as a contractor. He is traveling to the UAE a lot.

Chuck turned the big 4 ...0 this year. I married such a young pup....jk! Anyway here is a pic from his suprise party!

Besides traveling, Chuck hobby is wood working. He undertook a major project this year.....creating built-in desks/cabinets in the loft for the kids. He did an amazing job! See........

Linda's Lines from Other website

I'm always busy but.....this year has been crazy!!!! The year started out with a trip to Greece, what fun! We spent several days in Athens and then traveled to Crete where Chuck was working. We spent time with a Greek fighter pilot's family. I loved the food but Chuck thought it was kind of bland.....if you can't put jalapeno's on it what's the point right? Anyway, I had a great time. My mother stayed with my kids while I was able to go with Chuck.
I spent an enormous time volunteering while Kinzi was in 3rd grade. I worked with her class on a class newspaper. It turned out awesome but was a lot of work.
I threw Chuck a surprise 40th birthday party in April. His family and one of his best friends came down.
In April, I went with my friends Lori and Tracy (from my IBM days) to NYC. We had a nice long girls weekend. We went to see SPAMALOT on Broadway. It was a great show!
In May we were able to go to San Antonio to see Drew's son, Michael, graduate from High School. The whole family was down and it was nice to see everyone.
This summer Nathan took a Robotics mini class at the University of Arizona and Kinzi took an Art class in Tubac, AZ so I was non-stop driving to get them to their activties.
To escape the Arizona heat, we spend a long weekend in San Diego. The kids played in the ocean the whole time on boogie boards!
We were able to squeeze in a trip to Las Vegas this summer. I was able to see one of my really good neighbors and Nathan was able to see his best buddy there for several days. I enjoyed SPAMALOT on Broadway so much in April, we took everyone to see the SPAMALOT show in Las Vegas on this trip. It was great, the kids really enjoy it.
Every quarter we go to the Gaslight Theatre here in Tucson. The shows are comedies. The last one we saw this year was Robin Hood and it was the best show so far.
In August, I had to have more surgery. It was suppose to be laprascopic but it didn't go very well and they ended up having to cut me open. I had a much longer recovery than expected.
I started coaching soccer about two weeks after surgery (way to soon for me to be running around). That is still going on and it is going well.
We just got back from Orlando, Fl where we stayed at the Nickelodeon Resort and went to five Theme Parks.
I'm getting ready for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, which includes writing the Blank Chronicles.
I still read a lot and I'll post the books I've read this year and tell you what I've thought about them in case you need recommendations.
I've really gotten in to digital scrapbooking this year too and if you look around my site you'll see some of the layouts I've done. I download or buy designers kits and then put everything together with my pictures and Photoshop.
Oh.....nearly forgot. I've been updating Kinzi's Room. She was very tired of pink.....All her walls were pink. Now her room is White, Black and Lime Green. Look in her section and you'll see what we did for her room!
